Our Prayer Garden
Our school councillors and Mini Vinnies have designed our new prayer garden. They wanted the garden to reflect our values, be a place to enjoy, be peaceful and allow time to think. The garden is also linked to our Ecool club area so that the children can also explore God's creation and explore new plants, wildlife whilst using their senses. The children requested a giant rosary bead in the centre of the garden.
Homebase at Clitheroe donated all the wonderful plants and cement to help build this area. Asda at Colne has also donated some planting tubs and windmills and wind chimes. We are very grateful to both of these.
We were also extremely fortunate to be given a legacy from 'Peggy Humphreys', a parishioner from St. Joseph's Church who shall be always remember in this garden. We know she would have enjoyed the area too.
Children and staff will use the garden during school time and at breaks.
Some children have also designed posters at home which are now displayed in the garden. These remind other children to not run in the area and to not go on the stones. The children really do want to appreciate this area and look after it.
The prayer garden will be officially opened and blessed by Bishop Marcus in the Autumn term. For the we are just enjoying a special new area to visit and be inspired.
